How to create Custom Templates

WhatsApp custom templates are pre-designed message formats that businesses can use to send messages to their customers through the WhatsApp Business API. These templates are customizable to include specific information that businesses want to share with their customers.

 

Custom templates are designed to help businesses communicate with their customers more efficiently and effectively by providing a standardized format for specific types of messages. For example, a business might use a custom template to send order confirmation messages,shipping notifications or production promotions.

 

However, businesses should be mindful of WhatsApp's guidelines for template usage to avoid any issues with message delivery or account suspension.

 

To create a WhatsApp Message Template on SuperLemon, please follow these steps:

 

1. Log in to the SuperLemon dashboard and select the "Templates" tab from the main menu.

2.To create a new template, click on the "Create New Template" button.

3. Fill in the required information to create the template.

 

Template name: The name should resemble the template and contain lowercase letters, numbers, and underscores only. give your template a name that is easy to identify and remember.

Category: Pick a category that best describes the kind of a template you are creating. Choose marketing for marketing new products and sending discounts. Choose Utility for order and delivery updates.

 

Type: Choose a template type from the list of available options.You create text/image/video/document template. 

 

Language: Choose the language of your message.

 

Body: Write your message in the Message box. Keep in mind that your message must be relevant and helpful to the customer and comply with WhatsApp policies and regulations. To personalize the message for your customers you can include dynamic variable by clicking on the “Add Variable Button“. Superlemon provides a list of standard variables to choose from. you can also select “custom variable” to include your own variable.

 

Header: Header is optional. Add a 60 character title to your message. If you have selected image/vide/document in template type, you;ll not be able to add header. 

 

Footer: Footer is optional. Add a 60 character footer to your message. Variables are not supported in the footer.

 

Buttons (optional): Create buttons that let customers respond to your message or take action. Once you select the call to action button, you’ll need to enter the button name & redirection URL/redirection phone number.

 

You can add static or dynamic URLs in the button. Choose a static URL if you want to send the same URL to all the contacts. Choose dynamic if the URL value should change for different contacts.

  

Sample variable: Please note that if you have included custom variable inside the template, you’ll need to provide a sample value for the variable.

 

Once you have filled all the information, you can click on create button to create the template.  

 

4. Your template will now be reviewed by WhatsAp

Once your template is approved, you can use it to send messages to your customers using the WhatsApp Business API. follow the article here to avoid template rejection.
