How to collect customer opt-in on WhatsApp

Optin: Customer needs to give his phone number and consent to receive messages on Whatsapp is a mandate in order to have successful message deliveries.

There are 4 ways to do it.

  4. Opt-in Via chat widget:

To enable opt-in please perform following actions:

1.  Login to SuperLemon Dashboard

2. Click on “WhatsApp Widgets” in the left menu bar.

3. Go to Opt-in Widgets subsection

In this subsection, you shall see all the opt-in collection mechanisms. 

Option 1: Storefront Opt-in Widget

Storefront Optin Widget is by default enabled when you install the app. However you can configure the pages where you want to show this widget. Please check the image below to see how it can be done.

Please follow the below mentioned Steps to Enable the same.

  1. Login to SuperLemon Dashboard
  2. Click on “WhatsApp Widgets” in the left menu bar.
  3. Go to Opt-in Widgets subsection
  4. Click on “Edit Configuration” button on the store-front Widget tile. 
  1. There are 4 events for Opt In. Go to “Please select the event for displaying the storefront opt-in widget” and select the option relevant to you. Please note that multiple events can also be selected.

6. On the configuration page, you can also select the language of Opt-in page widget.

Please note that whenever you enable Store-front widget, thank you page widget is enabled by default. 

Option 2: Checkout Opt-in

Option 3: Spin the Wheel

You can configure this to attract customers as they get a discount if they spin the wheel and in order to get the discount coupon they need to provide their phone number as the offer coupon is sent to their whatsapp. This is the smartest way to collect optin and encourage customers to make the purchase.

There are 1000s of stores using this feature and converting 25%+ customers who were dropping out earlier and not making purchases.

Please follow the below mentioned Steps to Enable the same.

  1. Login to SuperLemon Dashboard
  2. Click on “WhatsApp Widgets” in the left menu bar.
  3. Go to Opt-in Widgets subsection
  4. Click on the “Configure Widget” button on the Spin the Wheel tile. 
  5. Click on ? (Help) and check the tutorial video shared in the Guide on how to customize the widget design

Option 4: Opt-in Via Chat Widget

Collecting opt-in whenever any customer approaches you via Superlemon’s Chat Widget, is one of the most efficient ways to collect opt-in. You can enable opt-in via chat widget by performing following steps:

1. Login to SuperLemon Dashboard

2. Click on “WhatsApp Widgets” in the left menu bar.

3. Go to Opt-in Widgets subsection

4. Scroll to the bottom & look for “Opt-in via chat widget” tile. 

5. You can enable/disable it by turning the “Toggle Button” on/off.

Please note that Whenever you Enable Chat Widget, “Opt-in” via chat widget is enabled by default. You can also do customizations like changing the design & changing the welcome text on the widget by clicking on the “Edit Configuration button”.
