If you are using any of the Automated messages feature, you may have noticed that messages are sent from a +1 phone number. In this article, we will explain why and other related questions.
Why are the numbers starting from +1
Automated messages can only be sent using numbers that are approved for use with WhatsApp Business API. Our service is used by hundreds of merchants globally, hence we use +1 phone numbers which are neutral to all countries.

Can we add our own brand name and logo to the +1 number
As explained previously, the +1 numbers are common for all merchants using our service. If we update the logo for that number, it will reflect for every customer of every merchant receiving messages from our number. Hence, this change is not possible.
Can we send messages from our own number
Unfortunately, it is impossible to convert an existing WhatsApp number into a WhatsApp API number. API number is what's required to send automated messages.
However, you can get a brand new number and apply to WhatsApp for approval. You can use any WhatsApp service provider, one of the better ones are Haptik and Freshchat.
Please note - 3rd party services charge extra fees for getting you a WhatsApp phone number. Most likely it will be in the range of $49-$499/mo fixed subscription fee, along with any one-time fees levied by the service provider.
